This no-effort-to-make hibiscus orange mint water kefir is going to be your favorite probiotic drink. It’s sweet, tangy, and refreshing.
Uh-oh, I think I’m experiencing “The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon” (a.k.a. frequency illusion). What?
A few weeks ago, I picked up some dehydrated hibiscus petals at the bulk section in a grocery store. Ever since then, the word “hibiscus” just kept popping up everywhere I turned.
Is that weird? Have you ever experience that sort of thing?
I recognize it (the hibiscus flower) but I still couldn’t pronounce its name. A few days ago, I was at an event, and there was a drink that is made of hibiscus, gin, and syrup (I forgot what kind, oops!). Although I rarely have any alcohol, it tasted very good. I asked the bartender: “How do you pronounce the name?” “/haɪˈbɪskəs/” he said.
As you may already know, I love homemade probiotic drinks. Adding hibiscus petals in homemade water kefir is definitely my favorite choice. The flavor and color of hibiscus petals can easily be infused into water kefir after a few hours. No boiling. You just need a little time and patience.
As warmer weather is on its way, mint leaves is a great way to add some shine to this drink. After infusing the dehydrated hibiscus petals, some blood orange slices, and mint leaves in water kefir for a few hours, you’ll be dazzled by the beautiful deep color. Refreshing, vibrant color, and berry-rich citrus flavor are all in one cup.
I know you can’t wait to try this hibiscus orange mint water kefir. Bottoms up!
