  • ¼ cup long-grain rice or broken vermicelli

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground ginger

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper optional

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
